I’d be willing to bet…

That is if I were a betting man, and I’m not.  But if I were, I’d bet what God looks for in our hearts is gratitude. It might even be what He looks for first.

An Essential Attitude

Philippians 4:6 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made know to God.”

Hebrews 13:15 “Through Him [Jesus] then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.”

Colossians 3:16 “…singing with thanksfulness in your hearts to God.”

Think about it

God made us, gave us life, and even more than that gave us a soul, an individuality, that person we mean when we say “I.”  To me, that’s even more of a miracle than the creation of the universe, the stars, even the earth itself.  To create just one other person apart from Himself, with an identity, a consciousness,  is an incredible accomplishement and well worthy of praise and thanksgiving indeed.

Forever in the Light

You and I will live forever, and if we believe in and trust in Jesus our Savior and Triumphant  Lord, we will be with Him forever too, where “there will not longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever.”  (revelation 22:5, NASB)

May be give thanks, in faith, today.
